Piers Paul Read’s novels include Monk Dawson, A Season in the West, Alice in Exile and – most recently – The Death of a Pope. His works of non-fiction cover a broad spectrum, from Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors to the authorised biography of Alec Guinness.
